FAQ

How does a SQL server work?

SQL Server provides a platform for a collection of SQL databases.

Microsoft SQL Server is installed on a Windows or Linux server. An instance is set up per collection of similar databases, the main advantages of which are that it is allocated its own resources (processors, memory) and that users or applications are authorized per instance. In addition, communication with other SQL servers is possible, so that, among other things, the availability of databases can be increased, or completely different data can be compared (for example to recognize patterns, = Big Data).
